SYM launched the model name "Jet" in 1995, with the Jet 50 and Jet 100 two-stroke sports machines which had contemporary styling at the time. After decades of sales the SYM Jet range has become a mainstay in the scootering world, and has won many races in its native Taiwan. SYM quickly realised the essence of a competent commuting scooter was economy and utility, but also realised it had to be stylish for the European market. Jet 14 is all of these things, and since its launch in 2017 has sold almost 100,000 units in Europe alone. For 2025 the Jet 14 is significantly upgraded to this new model, the "Jet 14 Evo". The Jet 14 Evo features the following improvements from previous Jet 14 models:
- Inherited SYM Maxi-scooter DNA for the urban sport design, smoked screen, stylish new mirrors and new wheels.
- Full LED lighting and dynamic front turn indicators. Hazard lights are also now standard.
- New 5-inch colour LCD dashboard with auto-dimmer and ambient temperature display.
- USB Type-C and Type-A (QC3.0) dual charging sockets for enhanced flexibility.
- Foldable shopping hook and integrated top case carrier for additional convenience.
- Longer wheelbase and A.L.E.H stabilisation improves leg room and ride quality.
- Wider rear tyre for improved comfort and stability.
- Fuel filler moved from under seat to leg shield for improved convenience.
- Under-seat storage area is enlarged to 28L due to the re- located fuel tank.
